Course Description
In this ALAM accredited course, students will understand the physical and chemical properties of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), and the relevant principles of ship design, cargo operation and cargo containment systems. Additionally, students will learn the various equipment used for cargo related operations onboard LNG carriers and understand the relevant operational procedures and requirements, various support systems, cargo operations, security issues related to the operation of LNG carriers and know the relevant responsibilities of a ship owner/operator. Students will also understand the commercial relevance of the time charter clauses specific to the operation of LNG carrier and know the rights and responsibilities of a ship owner under a typical charter.
This e-learning program has been developed based upon DNV Standard for Certification No.3.302. - Competence of Shipboard LNG Cargo Operators and SIGTTO's - Guidance and Suggested Best Practices for the LNG Industry in the 21st Century.
